Foreign minister Mahat leaving for Qatar today

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat is leaving for Qatar on Tuesday for a three-day official visit.

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat is leaving for Qatar on Tuesday for a three-day official visit.



According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Minister Dr Mahat is visiting Qatar at the invitation of his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.



During his stay in Qatar, Minister Dr Mahat will hold bilateral meetings with his counterpart on Wednesday in Doha. He will also pay a courtesy call on Emir of the State of Qatar and hold a meeting with the Minister of Labor of the State of Qatar. 



According to the press statement, Minister Dr Mahat will have an interaction with the Nepali nationals in Doha. Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, a joint secretary from the Ministry of Labor and Employment of Nepal, and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will accompany Dr Mahat during the visit. 



Minister Dr Mahat is scheduled to leave for the USA on January 12 to attend the 5th Annual General Meeting of NRNA NCC, USA as the chief guest. He will fly back home on January 16.
