KATHMANDU, March 30: The 3rd edition of the International Flora Expo kicked off in Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu, on Thursday.
The expo, which will run through April 2, is being organized by the Floriculture Association of Nepal (FAN). Supported by the Ministry for Agricultural Development, the expo aims at providing visitors with information on technology used in floriculture, according to the organizers.
Different species of flowers, compost fertilizers, seeds, green house, agricultural equipment, and packaging materials, among others, are also on display.
The expo has 99 stalls, of which 28 are of international exhibitors.
Dilip Badhe, senior vice president of FAN, said exhibitors from countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, China, and South Korea, among others, are participating in the expo.
The organizers have expected around 65,000 visitors and transactions worth around Rs 7.5 million during the four-day event.
