KATHMANDU, Sept 4: Flight operations at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) were disrupted on Thursday, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
The airport authority said the problem arose after a technical failure in the communication frequency system. Airlines reported that their flights were severely affected, while the airport management maintained that only delays had occurred.

“Some flights were delayed due to technical issues in the control tower,” said airport Spokesperson, Rinji Shepra, “It’s not a complete shutdown, but flights could not be operated in full. The issue is now being resolved, and there have been no problems for the last half an hour.”
