The District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said that the clash ensued after the agitating students hurled stones at police.[break]
Police constable Mohan Joshi and policemen Govinda Daga, Singha Bista, Hikmat Chaudhary and Roshan Okheda were injured in the clash.
Police lobbed two shells of tear gas to scatter the agitating students.
The students have been agitating for few days saying that budget for the Far-Western University was not allocated.
However, the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Saturday made it clear that the government has allocated necessary budget in the total budget of the UGC for the operation, promotion and development of the Far-Western University.
