According to chief coach Mahesh Shrestha, Kumute (fight) players and Single Kata players got the accreditation cards. Only one player each from men´s and women´s team kata got the accreditation cards.

However, National Sports Council has not published any notice relating to the participation of karate players. Neer Bahadur Moktan, Mandekaji Shrestha, Kedar Simkhada, Chanchala Danuwar and Suman Lama could not receive the accreditation cards.

"We were eligible to register not more than 10 players in karate but the Nepal Karate Federation (NKF) had registered 15," said an NOC source. The South Asian Olympic Council meeting held in Dhaka on November 18 had taken the decision. NKF President and NOC member Purendra Bikram Lakhe had represented Nepal in the meeting.

The karate team is coming home from Thailand on Sunday.
