As people get increasingly health conscious, memberships of gyms and yoga classes have swelled lately, also evident with the fact that we see a lot of photographs on social media platforms such as Instagram or Facebook these days. Here, Republica talked to a few people to know about their fitness regime, and find out what drives them to stay fit.

I go to the gym regularly. I have been working out for the past few months, and I’ve been doing this for nothing but my own physical fitness. Yes, there are some people who join the gym just to remain trendy as they might think lifting some weight would make them cool. A lot of people are indeed influenced by this trend, and while some are continuing it genuinely, there are some who do it just for the sake of getting fresh or “trending” material for their social media accounts.

I go to the gym regularly, and am very honest regarding my workouts. It’s about getting fit, and a matter of discipline and self respect. While some people may actually be genuine, a lot of them are just influenced by social media. After they find out only through hard work they can achieve what they want, they give up. Some people work out just for special occasions like parties and social functions, because they are scared of commitment to the gym, and are not really that serious about staying fit. For them, I believe it’s just a trend.

I actually try to follow a balanced diet, play basketball, and swim. I also do some pushups and crunches. There are both kinds of people today. For instance, if I am scrolling through my feed and I see a person posting pictures of his good physic, I would also like to do the same. But there are some who try to stay fit for genuine reasons and do not post pictures on social media.

I try to stay fit by eating healthy, allocating certain time to take care of myself, taking proper rest. Every morning, we can see people running, stretching, or practicing yoga. This really inspires me because the essence of staying fit has been gracefully accepted these days. But yes, it also depends on the driving force for staying fit. If someone invests so much time to stay fit, even just for the sake of following certain trends, there’s no harm in it.

Waking up early, going on regular walks, trekking and hiking, and playing sports has kept me physically and mentally fit. Staying fit certainly plays a key role in realizing one’s dream and staying happy. In this fast-paced world, it is really important that we stay fit and take optimum care of ourselves. Pollution levels in our cities, growing popularity of junk food and sedentary lifestyle have made our lives really dull. Against this backdrop, I would welcome any effort made by the people, even though if it’s just for the social media, to stay fit.

The power that fitness brings along is amazingly instrumental in boosting one’s confidence. In my understanding, exercises can be crucial in enhancing a person’s features. It has been said and heard the more we pay attention to our body and fitness, the more exercises we engage ourselves in, the more comfortable and confident we can get in our skin, and I completely agree to it. I guess this is also what many people have realized and have thus been engaging in exercises. I don’t believe this is a mere fashion trend.

I stay fit by going on regular walks and following balanced diet. Well, I agree that people today stay fit also because they just want to follow a certain trend. And, youths today don’t do something only for one reason. For example, if a 16-year-old like me wants to stay fit then it’s highly likely that he wants to be attractive.
