Fire in Sarlahi destroys property worth Rs 2.75 million

MALANGWA (SARLAHI), Nov 2: A fire that broke out in Barahathawa market of Sarlahi last night, has caused a loss worth around 2.75 million rupees.


According to Sarlahi District Police, the fire broke out in a shop run at the house of Kisun Das in Barhathawa Municipality-7. As a result, the Rajveer wholesale grocery shop operated by Naresh Shah, potato store of Vijay Das and the tailor shop of Saroj Raut Kurmi were damaged in the fire, said DSP Gautam Thapa.

The fire that started at 11:30 last night was brought under control only at 2:00 am today. The police said that the fire was brought under control with the help of security personnel, locals and Hariwan municipality fire department. 


In a separate incident, a fire broke out from a candle lit for Lakshmi Pooja in the house of Jitu Raya in Dhankaul Rural Municipality-4. District Police Office, Sarlahi, said that the fire destroyed the furniture, TV, clothes, gold and silver in the room and caused a loss worth Rs 250,000.
