Fire breaks out at party palace in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, April 10: A massive fire broke out at a party palace at Khusibu in Kathmandu on Sunday evening, destroying properties worth approximately Rs 4.5 million.

Police said the cause of the fire is yet to be known. The blaze took place at the store room and the kitchen of Classic Buffet Point Party Palace at Naya Bazaar Link Road at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-17 run by Ruresh Raj Shrestha.

The fire incident took place when food items were being prepared in the party palace for a marriage reception. The fire was doused one hour later jointly by the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and local people with the help of a fire engines. Further investigations into the incident are underway, said police.
