He also said that the Board would distribute National Film Prize from this year and for this the films of 2067 B.S, 2068 B.S and 2069 B.S have been nominated. [break]
He said 16 films from 2067 B.S, 24 from 2068 B.S and 38 from 2069 B.S have applied for the prize.
It is said that applications were invited for top indigenous nationalities languages to award the best film of the indigenous language but no application was lodged for 2067 B.S while a single application was lodged for 2068 B.S.
Similarly, two applications were filed for the best indigenous language film for 2069 B.S.
Saying that the jury panel has submitted its decisions, Marbaita added the programme for national film prize would be made public soon.
This prize would be developed as the standard prize of country´s film sector, he added.
The Board has already decided to implement the e-ticketing sales systems in the cinema halls in Kathmandu to reduce the ill-practices seen in the film sector and receive the correct statistics.
Classification of the films by taking approval from the Information Ministry is also on the cards while grading of the cinema halls would be implemented from today, he said.
