KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Nepali Congress lawmaker Tek Bahadur Gurung, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Manang in the November 20 election, has been suspended from his post. He was suspended as a corruption case is pending against him.
The Federal Parliament Secretariat issued a notice and informed that Gurung's position as a member of parliament has been automatically suspended as per the constitutional provision until the pending case in the court is resolved.
The NC has a total of 89 lawmakers elected as HoR members. With the suspension of Gurung, NC will have only 88 lawmakers in the lower house of parliament.
