First PA meeting concludes in province 2, 5, 6 and 7 today


The first provincial assemblies meeting of province- 2, 5, 6 and 7 has concluded on Sunday. The meetings convened at the temporary headquarters Janakpur, Butwal, Birendranagar and Dhangadi respectively.

'Preparations almost over for first PA meeting of province 4'


Preparations for the first ever meeting of the Province Assembly of Province 4 scheduled for Monday have reached the final state, said the Parliament Secretariat officials. The venue for the meeting is the assembly hall of the Nadipur-based Town Development Training Centre. 


Leader Mahat urges provinces to search sources


Nepali Congress central committee member Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has said that the country could face problem in bearing the cost of implementing federalism. At a news conference organised by Press Union, Morang, at Biratnagar today, leader Mahat, a former Finance Minister, suggested the provinces to make less administrative expenditure as well as to look for financial sources. 


'Call for developing Pokhara as city of sports'


Member Secretary of the National Sports Council Keshab Kumar Bista stressed the need for developing Pokhara as a city of sports. Saying sports and tourism could go hand in hand, he informed that they have already made preparation to hold six games (Women's football, men and women's volleyball, archery, triathlon, badminton and handball) under the South Asian Games (SAG) in the city of lakes. The next SAG is scheduled to hold in Nepal in March 2019.
