Farmers to get pension facilities

BAJURA, July 18: The Budhiganga municipality has decided to grant pension facilities to farmers in the municipality. The third municipal assembly took the decision to begin the provision through development of due procedures from the new fiscal year.

BAJURA, July 18: The Budhiganga municipality has decided to grant pension facilities to farmers in the municipality. The third municipal assembly took the decision to begin the provision through development of due procedures from the new fiscal year.


A proposal has been made to provide gratuity worth 500 to 1,000 rupee monthly in the beginning, said deputy Mayor Tara Khati. The assembly endorsed a budget of Rs. 510 million including among others to establishing fruit zones and according priority to animal husbandry.

A decision has also been taken to operate city bus for the benefit of the municipal residents. A budget of Rs. 10 million has been allocated for the same. It has come with popular programmes like 'your labour, our investment' and allocated budget for self-employment schemes.


Meanwhile, the locals have responded very positively to the policy and programme introduced by the municipality for the new fiscal year. It must be the first municipality in the country to provided pension facilities for farmers, said local resident and official at the Agriculture Knowledge Centre Min Prasad Jaisi.
