'Extend life term years'

KATHMANDU, May 20: A taskforce on Reform and Amendment of Criminal Law on Thursday recommended to the government to extend the life imprisonment term from the existing 20 years to 30 years depending on the nature of crime.



The taskforce, headed by Supreme Court (SC) justice Kalyan Shrestha, suggested extending the term while submitting its report to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Thursday.



The taskforce, however, suggested the government to remove provisions related to property confiscation from the laws.
