KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Former President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe is set to arrive in Kathmandu on Saturday as part of a personal visit. Sources said that he is scheduled to stay in Nepal until January 1.
According to security sources, Former President Wickremesinghe is set to come to Nepal with his spouse. Details of his itinerary during his stay in Nepal have not been shared.
PM Dahal holds meeting with Sri Lankan President Wickremesinghe
Wickremesinghe is the ninth president and tenth prime minister of Sri Lanka. He became the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka six times.
Most recently, Wickremesinghe was appointed as the Prime Minister after then Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned and fled the country after Sri Lanka witnessed an unprecedented economic crisis in May, 2022.
Wickremesinghe was elected President within a few months of being the Prime Minister. Anura Kumara Dissanayake is the current President of Sri Lanka.
