"UPA Chairperson Gandhi said that her party and the UPA want to see the unity among the democratic forces in Nepal for consolidating democratic rights with the drafting of the constitution. This will pave the way for focusing on economic development and making Nepal a peaceful, democratic and prosperous nation," a member of the UML´s foreign affairs department, Rajan Bhattarai, who is also a member of leader Nepal´s delegation, said in a statement after the meeting.

According to Bhattarai during the meeting leader Nepal briefly explained Gandhi about the decision made by Nepali political parties to hold the Constituent Assembly elections on November 19.
During the meeting leader Nepal informed that political parties in Nepal have reached an understanding that the CA elections are the only way to end the ongoing political transition and to institutionalize achievements gained through the 2006 popular movement.
"Welcoming former PM Nepal, the UPA chairperson said that India and Nepal are two close neighbors. Political leaders should have regular exchange of views on bilateral level which help to understand each other´s views on mutual concerns," reads the statement.
On the occasion, leader Nepal also expressed his sorrow over the loss of human lives and physical properties in the recent floods in Badrinath and Kedarnath of northern India.
