CHITWAN, Aug 31: Baurilal Sardar, a mahout, was killed by a male elephant on Thursday.

The 27-year old, was killed while he was heading toward jungle riding on an elephant named Motiprasad to collect fodder inside the Chitwan National Park (CNP).
“Baurilal Sardar was appointed mahout just a week ago,” said Nurendra Aryal, Information Officer at the CNP. CNP officials suspect that the elephant might have killed the new mahout on the way to the jungle.
