Election office set up for by-election in Baglung

BAGLUNG, March 13: The Election Commission has set up the office of the chief election officer at the District Development Committee Office in the district for the by-election at the Baglung Constituency No 1.

The by-election is going to take place on April 11 as the representative from the constituency Hari Bahadur Khadka was killed in a road accident last December.The Election Commission has assigned joint attorney Hari Prasad Joshi as the chief election officer. The office has prepared to launch election voting machine for the by-election.

A total of 50,000 voters were enlisted in the constituency, said Tolraj Upadhyay, officer at the election office. The election commission has launched e-voting campaign in the constituency as the electronic voting machine is being used for the first time in the district.

Prior to this, different political parties have fielded their candidates for the by-election, Champa Khadka from Nepali Congress, Mana KC from CPN (UML), Dina Nath Sharma from UCPN (Maoist) and Netra Budhathoki from Rastriya Janmorcha so far. RSS
