Sixty-year-old Lakhman Tamang of Nunthala-5 was sent to jail for investigation on the alleged rape charge of differently-abled 24-year-old woman.Khotang District Court said, "Tamang has been sent to jail for investigation following his arrest on June 23".
Four days after the incident, the victim's kin had lodged a case against Tamang at the Bakshila-based Area Police Station on June 25.
The hymen of the victim has reportedly been torn and as many as six stitches have been applied.
Her health check-up was carried out at District Hospital Diktel.
