CHITWAN, July 25: An elderly man died after drowning in a canal in Ratnanagar Municipality-16 of eastern Chitwan.
According to Chitwan District Police Office Spokesperson Rabindra Khanal, Karna Bahadur Gurung, 75, drowned in the Hattigade canal at around 8:00 am today. Gurung had reportedly left his home at 7:00 am and was found dead in the canal, about one kilometer south of his residence.

A police team from Tandi Area Police Office is currently investigating the incident. Gurung’s body has been sent to the Bharatpur Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
