Dilliraj Bhandari, 75, of Krishnapur-1 in Kanchanpur died after a motorcycle knocked him down at Krishnapur VDC-2. Bhandari died while being taken to India from Padma Hospital in Attariya, the police said. Motorcyclist Naresh Joshi was injured in the accident and is being treated at the Padma Hospital.
The accident occurred when a policeman was following a truck carrying liquor on Joshi´s motorcycle. Eyewitnesses said the policeman fled the scene after the motorcycle hit Bhandari´s cycle.
Similarly, Pravesh Rana of Daiji-9 was injured when his motorcycle hit a rickshaw at Daiji along the highway. He is being treated at Mahakali Zonal Hospital.
