Elderly hit by ADB jeep left untreated

BAJHANG, June 13: A sexagenarian woman, who was hit by the a jeep belonging to Asian Development Bank Mission at Sainlabagar, Chainpur VDC on Sunday morning, has been left untreated as she does not have money for medical treatment. [break]



Jamuna Damai, 60, of Sunikot-2, was retuning home when she was hit by the jeep with registration number (70-1-3) at Sainlabagar in Chainpur VDC. The elderly had passed out after the over -speeding jeep knocked her down. However, the jeep carrying diplomatic officials, ADB representatives, and representatives of Local Development Ministry, fled the scene leaving the elderly on the road.



Jamuna´s deaf-mute daughter had taken her to the hospital. The elderly has received serious injuries to her chest and left leg. “I had raised my hands requesting them to slow the vehicle as the road was narrow at that point. But the jeep did not slow down and hit me,” said Jamuna.
