Eight killed in separate incidents

CHITWAN, April 14: Eight persons have been killed and around 35 injured in separate incidents in Chitwan, Makawanpur and Dhankuta.



Three persons died and 10 injured in a truck accident at Darechowk, Chitwan, at 4 a.m. on Wednesday. The deceased have been identified as Mini Panthi (12) and Sushila Acharya (30) from of Birgunj and truck help Ramu from Nijgadh, Bara.



Meanwhile, two persons drowned in Rapti river in Chitwan. Batuli Rai (9) and Sita Bhujel of Jagatpur VDC were swept away by the river while taking a bath on Tuesday.



Likewise, Ganesh Bahadur Dimdung of Hetauda-11 and Ram Bahadur Waiba of Chhatiban VDC in Makawanpur were killed when lightning struck them on Tuesday night. Police said over 10 people were injured by lightning in the district.



Meanwhile, one person was killed and 23 injured in a tractor accident in Dhankuta on Wednesday.
