Educational institutions shut in Lalitpur in protest of manhandling teacher

LALITPUR, June 19: The All Nepal Teachers´ Organisation and the All Nepal National Independent Students´ Union-Revolutionary have closed all the educational institutions in Lalitpur on Wednesday, demanding action against the teachers, who thrashed Mukesh Mishra, a teacher of DAV school, Lalitpur, and to provide classes to teacher Mishra.



The two organizations closed all the district-based educational institutions saying action was not taken against Vice-principal Ram Chandra Khanal and Prashant Tamang even after complaint was filed at the District Police Office, and classes were not provided to Mishra to teach although he was reinstated under the pressure of teachers´ organisation.[break]



Mishra complained that they thrashed him while they were talking on the issue of salary, which was not given for long, and are still misbehaving and giving him mental torture over the complaint filed at the Police Office.



A total of 1,283 schools in the district have been affected by the strike in educational institutions.
