The EC would facilitate the registration of candidacy by sending the required documents of the candidates to the respective office of returning officer. For this, the candidates are required to submit their documents to the EC Office, Kantipath, Kathmandu, from 10 AM to 5 PM on October 9, said the EC.

The election body said the consideration was made keeping in view of the monsoon related difficulties including transport obstruction that poll candidates may face. EC said such candidates need to submit copies of the candidate's citizenship certificate and voter identity card, evidence of the registration of the candidate concerned in the voters' roll, copies of voter ID cards of the proposer and the one who seconds the candidate or proofs of their registration in the voters' roll and self-declaration.

In case of candidates from a political party, they also need to submit a formal letter  of the party according to Clause 19, and receipts specifying the deposition of collateral amounts or bank vouchers, a sealed envelope containing details of personal property of the candidate and personal details of the candidate according to Clause 20.

Those candidates who contested in the May 13 local elections can deposit the set amounts in fine for not furnishing their election expenditure details to the EC on time through EC's Head Office in Kathmandu and its offices in all seven provinces.
