KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The Election Commission (EC) has directed Jagdish Kharel, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate from Dolakha, to submit an explanation within three days.
According to EC legal officer Mohanraj Joshi, Kharel was found to have taken out a procession larger than the permitted size during the candidate nomination process on January 20. The EC has sought clarification on whether party flags were used and whether the size of the procession exceeded the limit prescribed by the election code of conduct.

The EC stated that the act may violate Clause 13(1) of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082 BS, and has asked Kharel to clarify the matter.
Kharel has been instructed to submit the clarification to the EC within the stipulated time, either personally or through an authorised representative.
