EC broaches Prez, V.Prez elections to parties

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: The Election Commission has proposed to hold the election of President and Vice-President within this month.

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: The Election Commission has proposed to hold elections for the President and the Vice-President by this month's end.  


An all party meeting at the Office of EC has suggested that the elections be held before March 15, Chief Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav said.

Representatives of major political parties said that they'd discuss within their parties on the same. Agni Kharel from CPN-UML, Bimilendra Nidhi from Nepali Congress, Narayan Kaji Shrestha from CPN (Maoist Center), Rajendra Mahato from Rasrtiya Janta Party, Nepal and Rajendra Shrestha from Federal Socialist Party, Nepal were presented in the meeting.


Ayodhee Prasad Yadav, Chief Commissioner of EC and other commissioners, deputy secretary and spokesperson were from the side of EC.


After submitting the results of Federal and provincial assembly to President, EC, for the first time, has discussed the election of President and Vice-President with five national parties.
