KATHMANDU, Oct 29: As the general election approaches, the Election Commission (EC) has stepped up transportation of ballot papers and election related materials.
According to the EC, the ballot papers for the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assemblies election have been transported to all districts except for eight districts so far. In the next few days, the delivery of direct ballot papers will begin for remote districts as well.

The EC has started shipping 57 different types of election materials such as ballot boxes, ballot papers and swastika stamps, among other things, from Friday. The transportation of the election material has started in the districts of Far West, Karnali and Province 1.
Now the election material will be transported to the remote districts and from there the material will be handed over to the concerned election officer through the district election office. The election officers will then hand them over to the polling officers.
According to the EC, the transportation of election materials will be completed by November 2.
