EBL profit rises by 24.2 pc

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) earned an operating profit of Rs 291.70 million during first quarters of the current fiscal year.



The operating profit of the bank up to mid-October rose by 24.20 percent as compared to Rs 234.9 recorded during the same period last fiscal year, says a press statement issued by the bank on Saturday.



A meeting of board of directors of the bank held on Saturday approved the unaudited financial report of the bank. The bank collected a deposit of Rs 34.11 billion during the period, increment of 25.4 percent as compared to deposit mobilized in the same period last year.



The bank has a network of 35 branches with five extension counters.



The meeting also decided to open 36th branch at Tatopani along the Nepal-China border.
