KATHMANDU, August 20: An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale occurred early today at 1:28 a.m. The epicenter of the earthquake was around Hattisar in Banke district, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center (NEMRC).
Early-warning censors installed in Banke
The NEMRC said that it was not an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake but a fresh tremor. The shock of the earthquake was felt across Banke and Bardia in western Nepal and neighboring India.
