Taking to his social media on Thursday afternoon, Dr Koirala's personal aide Dinesh Chandra Thapaliya said Dr Koirala is determined to contest for the post of NC President. This comes amid reports in a section of media that Dr Koirala had given up his bid for party president as another senior leader Prakash Man Singh has been insisting that he would be contesting for the post of party president. Earlier, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and General Secretary Dr Shashank Koirala had given up their presidential bids for consensus. The rival faction in the party has failed to pick a consensus candidate for president as both Singh and Dr Shekhar have remained adamant on their stance to contest for the post of party president.
