Dr K I Singh Highway obstructed for the third day

DHANGADHI, May 1: Locals have continued obstructing the Kalagada section of Dr. K I Singh Highway on the third day in a row over a killing of a girl by a bus. The road connects Dipayal and Dadeldhura districts in far western part of the country.



Locals started obstructing the road section after a bus en route to Achham from Dhangadi killed one Sharada Bogati, 12, of Mudegaun on Wednesday. They have obstructed vehicular movement by putting stones on the road. Kin of the deceased kept the dead body of the girl on the road until Thursday evening.



The protesting locals have said that they would not withdraw their protests unless the girl’s family is provided compensation.



Meanwhile, Chief District Officer of Doti Gobinda Mani Bhurtel said efforts are being made to hold dialogue between the bus owner and the victim’s family to settle the dispute.
