District Monitoring Committee instructs private hospitals and medical shops to take approval by mid-June

TAPLEJUNG, July 6: The District Monitoring Committee has instructed private hospitals and medical shops in Taplejung, which are operating without approval, to obtain approval by the end of the current financial year.

Yograj Ghimire, chief of Health Office, Taplejung, said that the District Monitoring Committee has decided to take action according to the law against the private hospitals and medicine shops that have not received approval by mid-July.

Ghimire said that since the report that should be submitted to the relevant body during the monitoring has not been received on time, the monitoring committee has also instructed all concerned to submit the report on time from now on. Assistant Chief District Officer Tanka Bahadur Bhattarai said that procedures and standards must be fulfilled and mentioned that otherwise they will proceed according to the law.

According to Surendra Limbu of Taplejung District Hospital, some medicine shops are not using standards in waste management, so they have been instructed to improve it immediately. The monitoring committee has asked the health institutions to have the required manpower to operate X-ray machines and well structured machine rooms immediately.

Chief District Officer Goma Devi Chemjong said that those who run health related institutions should be sensitive. Inspector Gopal Baral, a lab technician of the Health Office, has requested the private hospitals and medicine shops to abide by the instructions given during the monitoring within the time period.
