KATHMANDU, July 5: Senior Advocate Harihar Dahal has started a debate on the issue of the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
After the debate on behalf of the Speaker was over, the counter debate on behalf of the writ petitioner started on Sunday. Senior Advocate Raman Kumar Shrestha presented his counter arguments.

A writ petition regarding the dissolution of the House of Representatives is being heard in the constitutional bench comprising Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana and Justices Dipak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, and Dr Anand Mohan Bhattarai. Senior Advocate Shambhu Thapa and Badri Bahadur Karki will debate on behalf of the petitioner.
The writ petitioner was given three hours to reply to the counterarguments made by the defendants. While one hour was over on Sunday, there are only two hours left for today. The amicus curiae will then debate for two hours.
Senior advocates Raghav Lal Vaidya and Usha Malla from Nepal Bar Association and senior advocates Komal Prakash Ghimire and Prakash Bahadur KC from Supreme Court Bar Association have been appointed as the amicus curiae. The impartial aides of the court shall give their independent opinion to the court in accordance with the law.
