KATHMANDU, May 25: Deputy Prime Minister Bimalendra Nidhi wondered what the main opposition CPN-UML wanted to do by barring the parliament even from thanking the President for her address to the budget session of the parliament.

"What's the opposition role of UML? Doesn't it have any sense to act? UML's activity at today's parliament was ridiculous," commented DPM Nidhi while exiting from the Legislature-Parliament meeting.

He, however, said government has heeded the aspiration of the opposition party.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari presented the policies and programs of the government for the coming fiscal year on Thursday. Immediately after she completed the announcement of p0licies and programs, the lawmakers from the UML left their seats and obstructed the parliament business. The schedule was - the parliament to thank the President.

According to DPM Nidhi, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal tendered resignation as per the agreement between the CPN (Maoist Center) and the Nepali Congress. It has paved way for the formation of new government, he added. RSS
