The deal states that the sponsorship amount will be more than Rs 2 million, and its duration will be a year.

“Global College wants to help more kids from across the country, and those coming from far-west are under special consideration. We want to help them do well when they represent the national team in future,” Ojha said.

“We are trying our best to create a better environment to help promising players from the most productive part of Nepal. It is part of our social responsibility. We are delighted to be associated with cricket franchise Stars,” Ojha added.

Similarly, Stars owner Bohora was excited to join hands with the Kathmandu-based college. He said was looking forward to a great experience helping both the parties.

“I am simply happy and thankful to Global College for its support to our franchise,” he said.

Stars is a new Dhangadhi city-based franchise in DPL, replacing Team Chauraha Dhangadhi for the third edition of the premier T20 event. Team Chauraha has won previous two editions of the league. Paras Khadka led Team Chauraha for its win in the first season, whereas Sompal Kami led the same franchise to the trophy in the second edition.

Stars has retained Kami as the strategic player and captain of the team. Nepal Police Club head coach Manoj Katuwal has been roped in as the coach for the third edition.
