KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Current vice president of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal on Wednesday formally announced his candidacy for the post of senior vice president of the FNCCI.
Organizing a press meet in the capital, Dhakal said that he is contesting for the post of FNCCI senior vice president in the upcoming FNCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM).
"Once I become the senior vice president of the FNCCI, I will work to create more favorable environment for the entrepreneurs to do their businesses, bring more Investment and technologies from foreign countries, expand the constructive role of private sector and make the private sector further accountable. I will also work for the well-fare of the entrepreneurs across the country," he said.
Dhakal said he would do his best to develop private sector as a strong pillar of the country's economy.
FNCCI—the largest umbrella organization representing the private sector in the country — is holding its AGM in April next year. Entrepreneur Dhakal is also the chairman of the IME Group.
