Development and prosperity of Kathmandu will not be just a fairy tale: Deputy Mayor Dangol

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sunita Dangol has expressed her best wishes to all the citizens of the city and common Nepalis on the occasion of Constitution Day and National Day, 2079.

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sunita Dangol has expressed her best wishes to all the citizens of the city and common Nepalis on the occasion of Constitution Day and National Day, 2079.


She said that in the journey of seven years since the promulgation of the constitution, the current constitution has played an important role in ending all forms of discrimination and oppression created by the centralized and unitary state system.

She said that this constitution has also played an important role in uniting the ethnic, linguistic, religious, cultural and geographical diversity of the Nepali society in the formula of national unity.


On the occasion of Constitution Day, she appealed for the implementation of the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution. In addition, she said that she will emphasize on making all citizens have equal access to the services received from the state.


“On the occasion of Constitution Day, I wish that the dreams of development and prosperity of the people of Kathmandu will come true,” she said. “On the occasion of Constitution Day, as a representative of the people, I would also like to express my pledge to join hands in the dream of development and prosperity seen by the citizens of the city. Expressing my commitment not to let the development and prosperity here become a fairy tale, I appeal to all for the institutional development and strengthening of the democratic republic. I also appeal to everyone to keep the national unity, integrity and sovereignty of the people as the highest priority,” she said.


In addition, she also appealed to the citizens of Kathmandu to exercise their right to vote fairly, freely and without fear in the elections to the House of Representatives and the provincial assemblies to be held on 20th of November.


Along with this, she also paid tribute to the known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives during various movements.
