Deuba writes to UML Chairman Oli requesting votes for Ram Chandra Poudel

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has sent a letter to CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli asking for votes to senior NCleader Ramchandra Poudel, who has become a candidate on behalf of the eight-party alliance, in the presidential election to be held on March 9.

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has sent a letter to CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli asking for votes to senior NCleader Ramchandra Poudel, who has become a candidate on behalf of the eight-party alliance, in the presidential election to be held on March 9.


Deuba has sent a letter to Oli to vote for Poudel as he is a leading figure of Nepal's democratic movement.

CPN-UML has nominated its Vice-chairman SubaschNemwang as its candidate for the presidency. The final list of candidates is scheduled to be released today.


According to the Election Commission, those who have registered their nominations for the presidency can withdraw it today.


In the letter, Deuba has stated, “It is the common responsibility of all of us to move forward dynamically towards the socio-economic transformation of the country while efficiently carrying out today's national task of protecting the constitution and institutionalizing and strengthening the federal democratic republic. While we are fulfilling this responsibility, I want to assure you that Poudel will prove to be worthy.”
