CHITWAN, Sep 4: The dengue infection claimed one more life in Chitwan on Tuesday. The deceased is a 41-year-old from Chanauli, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-18, who had been undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital.


According to Dr Kalyan Sapkota, a senior physician at the hospital, the deceased was admitted on Friday. The patient, who had been on a ventilator, had severe dengue and died due to bleeding from various parts of the body, and his organs eventually stopped working.

Earlier on Saturday, a 63-year-old man from Bharatpur-2 died of the dengue infection at Chitwan Medical College.


Among the 3,331 people who sought treatment at various hospitals in the district, dengue infection was found in 788 patients. Of the infected, 580 are from Chitwan and other districts.
