Defence Minister Rijal decides to resign from his post

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: Minister for Defence and Nepali Congress (NC) leader Minendra Rijal said he has decided to resign from his post of Minister.

Writing on his social media wall, Minister Rijal shared that he had decided to resign from the post. “I have decided to resign from the post of the Minister of Defence in view of the clear message received from the preliminary election results of the elections for the post of General Secretary in the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress in which I contested.”

“As soon as I get the final results, I will submit my resignation to the Prime Minister,” he added.

नेपाली काङ्ग्रेसको चौधौं महाधिवेशनमा मैले प्रतिस्पर्धा गरेको महामन्त्री पदको प्रारम्भिक परिणामबाट नै स्पष्टरूपमा प्राप्त सन्देशलाई दृष्टिगत गर्दै रक्षामन्त्रीको पदबाट राजीनामा दिने निर्णय लिएको छु। अन्तिम परिणाम प्राप्त हुनासाथ सम्माननीय प्रधानमन्त्रीसमक्ष राजीनामा पेश गर्नेछु।
