Biratnagar Airport to be extended as regional int'l airport

Chief Minister of Province-1 Sherdhan Rai has opined for acquiring 250 bighas land to develop the Biratnagar airport into the regional international airport. While inaugurating the 20th-anniversary program of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal here today, CM Rai said so to extend the airport runway. 

Former State Minister Kamala Sharma dies of a heart attack

Former State Minister for Forest Kamala Sharma died of heart attack on Monday. Sharma was a central committee member of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Democratic), breathed her last during treatment at Nepal Mediciti Hospital in Lalitpur, according to RPP (D) leader Sovit Uprety. She served as the state minister during the premiership of Sher Bahadur Deuba in 2017.

Police seize 160 kg of hashish

Police seized 160 kilograms of hashish hidden inside the truck's body and false bottom of a truck. The truck, Na 4 Kha 2985 was en route to Birgunj from Manhari when it was stopped for a routine check along the Belwa-Milanchowk road section. The truck's driver, 29-year-old Sagar Wal from Padampokhari of Hetauda sub-metropolis-12 was also arrested, the District Police Office, Parsa. 

Kader Khan is in the hospital, son Sarfaraz quashes death rumors

Actor Kader Khan's son Sarfaraz on Monday dismissed media reports of his father's demise. He added that his father has been admitted to a hospital in Canada. The 81-year-old actor has developed breathing issues and the doctors have reportedly transferred him from regular ventilator to BiPAP ventilator. Kader Khan is, reportedly, suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia.
