KATHMANDU, March 6: The DAV Sushil Kedia Biswa Bharati Higher Secondary School in Lalitpur has snubbed the directive of the Department of Education to reinstate teachers sacked by the school administration recently.

The Department had on March 27 directed the school through the District Education Office, Lalitpur to reinstate the teachers unconditionally, according to Director of the Department, Tek Narayan Pandey.

Calling for rehabilitation of the teachers and withdrawal of the text books not approved by the government, the All Nepal Teachers´ Association and the ANNFSU (Revolutionary) have been organizing various programmes of protest against the school administration.

However, the school has instead expelled an additional 18 teachers for ´supporting´ the agitation, said senior Vice-president of the Association Lal Bahadur BC. We have now decided to increase the severity of our protest programmes, he added.

Coordinator of the Committee formed by the Ministry of Education to resolve the issue and Under Secretary at the Regional Education Directorate, Shanker Kumar Karki also confirmed that the DAV School has not heeded to the Committee recommendations.
