Dang pilgrimage sites teeming with visitors

TULASIPUR, Jan 14: An increasing number of visitors from Nepal and abroad are visiting the Bahrakune Lake and Bagarbaba Rihar at Deukhuri in Dang district and the historic pilgrimage site, Sworgadwari in the neighbouring district Pyuthan.

TULASIPUR, Jan 14: An increasing number of visitors from Nepal and abroad are visiting the Bahrakune Lake and Bagarbaba Rihar at Deukhuri in Dang district and the historic pilgrimage site, Sworgadwari in the neighbouring district Pyuthan. 



Teams of visitors carrying luggage can be seen on the way to these spots. Many vehicles carrying tourists can also be seen. The nearest towns to these places are also full of both domestic and Indian tourists.

The number of visitors increases especially to the run up to Maghe Sankranti festival during which occasion people take holy dips in the lake and rivulets close to these pilgrimage sites. People also sacrifice rams and roosters at the Barhakune lake. 


The water in the lake at Rihar is also comparatively warm and people take bath in the lake in believing that bathing in the lake water cures various skin diseases. Thousands of people take bath at the lake in Rihar. 


There is a temple of Bagar Baba, Baraha and Lord Shiva at Rihar. There is also a hot water pond where people take holy dips.
