Dance Fiesta: Bollywood dance classes for kids to adults

KATHMANDU, Nov 28: One of the quintessential elements of a Bollywood flick has to be its unique dance numbers.



And if you’re a fan of them latkas, jhatkas, and the thumkas, then the dance workshop with famed choreographer Shiamak Davar’s senior trainers is just what you’ve been waiting for.[break]



Now the second edition comes on the wake of last year’s phenomenal response, and is organized by Nirvana Cultural and Art Services.



“The upcoming workshop starts from November 30 and the participants will be performing on December 21 at the DAV College Auditorium,” informs Nidhi Todi, founder of Nirvana Cultural and Art Services.



She expressed her delight at the local interest in Bollywood dancing and was encouraged by previous year’s participation.







“Earlier, we were unsure whether Nepali people were interested in Bollywood dancing. But all that was put to rest with an overwhelming response that our previous workshop received. We’re expecting 300 students this year and 200 have already taken their admissions.”



Age limit is for the workshop is from five to 60 years. There are 10 different training venues and the teachers are senior trainers from Shiamak Davar’s team.



Shiamak, an India-based choreographer, singer, performer and a prominent celebrity, is the founder and artistic director of the world’s largest dance education movement.



For admission, participants may directly come to the venue 10 minutes before the class begins and pay the registration fee of Rs 5,085.
