Ambulance driver dies in accident

The police suspect the accident may have been caused by overspeeding. It is still unclear where the ambulance was heading.

BIRATNAGAR, March 16: The driver of an ambulance has died following an accident in the Budhiganga section of the Koshi Highway in Morang.


According to the District Traffic Police Office, Morang, the driver, Ashish Rai, 24, died when the ambulance (Ko 1 Cha 4774) of Manmaya Shrestha Memorial Foundation Morang,  met with an accident in Budhiganga Rural Municipality-3 along the Koshi Highway on Saturday night.

Rai, who was seriously injured in the accident, was admitted to the Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital for treatment. He succumbed to his injuries during the treatment. 


The deceased driver was originally from Pachchawati in Udayapur but had been residing in Budhiganga-2, Morang. The police suspect the accident may have been caused by overspeeding. It is still unclear where the ambulance was heading.
