The dam constricted by the local contractors with the involvement of Triyuga municipality to prevent the swollen river from eroding land collapsed no sooner it was built a month ago. [break]
It was occurred since the construction works were carried out without consulting any engineer or technician and following any map, complained Ramu Bote and Lalit Bote of the area.
The municipality had allotted a budget of Rs 800,000 for the construction of embankment.
It had to be built in line with the standard of 100 metres length and five feet breadth but was found constructed with 50 metres length and three feet breadth.
The construction was fragile since it was carried out merely with the intention to spend budget, said Pancha Lal Bote, a local.
