MAHOTTARI, Sept 13: Sanjogiya Devi, who has registered her candidacy for the Dalit member of Siswa Manara Municipality-8 from Nepali Congress (NC), has been elected unopposed for the post.
According to Yam Bahadur Baniya, election officer of Siswa Manara Municipality, Sanjogiya was elected unopposed as there were no other candidates competing for the post. Election officer Baniya further informed that she is the only candidate to be elected so far in Mahottari. Sanjogya will be given her certificate only after the election.
According to Chief Election Officer of the district Kiran Kumar Pokharel, it won't be right to provide her with certificate before the elections. There are 12 wards and a total of 24,251 voters in the district.
