KATHMANDU, May 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 9.62 points to close at 2,610.76 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,620.39 points, first soared to the day’s high at 2,630.37 points in the first 11 minutes, then plunged to as low as 2,604.99 points in the next two hours. The index crawled to recover only around six points in the remaining two hours before the market closed for the day.

Only three groups—non-life insurance, microfinance and mutual funds—gained 7.61 points, 6.84 points and 0.05 points, respectively. Of the 10 losing groups, manufacturing and processing shed the largest of 64.84 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 1.24 points. Daily turnover amount plunged to Rs 7.63 billion from Rs 9.24 billion on Sunday.
Among the individual companies, 86 were gainers while 159 were recorded as losers. Radhi Bidyut Company had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 760.58 million.
Himalayan Power Partner lost 9.99 percent of its market value and stood as the topmost loser. Nepal Micro Insurance Company, Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals Limited and Citizens Super 30 Mutual Fund by adding 10 percent in their market values were recorded as the biggest gainers.
