KATHMANDU, April 21: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a slight decline on Monday, falling by 7.75 points to settle at 2,698.28.
According to NEPSE, a total of 21,203,766 shares of 319 companies were traded in 78,678 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 8.77 billion.
Despite the overall decline, sub-indices for Development Banks (up by 0.43%), Hotels and Tourism (0.06%), Hydropower (0.77%), Investment (0.17%), Manufacturing and Processing (0.03%) and Mutual Funds (0.44%) posted gains.

All other sectoral indices also declined. The Banking index fell by 0.85%, Finance by 1.03%, Life Insurance by 0.16%, Microfinance by 0.11%, Non-life Insurance by 0.15%, Trading by 1.52%, and Others by 1%.
Nepal Microinsurance Company Limited and Crest Micro Life Insurance Company Limited recorded the highest gain of the day, with their share prices rising by 9.99%.
On the other hand, NMB Hybrid Fund–2 witnessed the highest loss, with its share price falling by 7.90%.
Nyadi Group Power Limited (NGPL) led the market in both trading volume and transaction amount, with 1,590,205 shares traded worth Rs 539.9 million.
