Speaking at a meeting participated by Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Minister for Information and Communication Madhav Paudel, Maoist Chairman Dahal said that it is against the peace process to raise the issues taken place during the insurgency.
“To arrest the person as directed by the government is to violate the peace process,” Dahal’s personal secretary Chunda Mani Sharma told Republica quoting Dahal as saying, “Arrest us if need be as we the ones who ordered to do so.”
Meanwhile, Dahal also warned of stir if his cadres are arrested, suggesting a middle way to resolve this issue as it, if given status, will question as many as 14-15 thousand such cases happened during the civil war. He suggested to sort out the issues occurred during the insurgency through the formation of Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
